A young cub trotted cautiously into the cave, closely followed by a large black wolf. The cub turned and smiled worriedly at the wolf. "Echo?" Whisper said quietly. "Echo, where are we?" Echo just shook his head and suddenly sat bolt upright, nose a-quiver and muscles tense. Very used to this routine, Whisper immediately flattened herself so she was pressed against the floor, staying very still and quiet. Another young cub entered the cave and stopped at the entrance, glaring at Echo. A long fringe fell over her face, but this time it didn't hide her wall eye. One eye was amber, the other blue. Her pelt was a reddish colour and she had a black star on her thigh. Echo snarled, expecting the cub to take flight, but instead she snarled back. "You have no more right to be here than me." She said shortly, her voice coraking as though it wasn't used to being used. Whisper sat up and the cub's eyes snapped to her immediately. Whisper shot Echo a glance and raised her head. She bared her teeth and growled lowly. Faya, the red cub, thingyed her head as though in amusement and sat herself down as though preparing to watch some form of show...

Kimika, from the back of the large cavern, walked foward, dipping her maw in greeting to each. "Hello..." she murmered, smiling kindly at each of the pups before directing her gaze to the brute. "Are both of these yours?"
From further back in the cavern, another set of orbs glowed, these shining purple in the darkness. Reiyn smiled. The drappa knew that Kimika would welcome the Siklas. Turning, the f'mmora walked out of the cavern, taking the back tunnel so as not to disturb the meeting. She would return if and when she was called for.

Echo jumped and backed away from the wolf, not noticing the orbs of the other. Whisper growled and Faya leapt to her feet. They had been too busy arguing to hear the sound of another. Echo's auds twitched at the question and he wrinkled his nose. "One is mine." He said slowly. "The other is a stranger...a loner." "You're a loner too!" Faya snarled furiously. "And don't speak of me as though I'm not here." Whisper walked over to the cub and her plumy tail curled over her back in a friendy fashion. The cubs touched noses briefly before yipping and deciding they liked eachother. Echo glared at them both angrily. "To be a loner." He said roughly. "Is to be alone." "And to have a daughter is not to be alone." Whisper finished his phrase. They had said it to many other lone wolves.
Faya took a daring step towards the wolcves, raising her head, ignorant to the submissive behaviour Whisper was starting to show. Faya's feathery tail lifted with her head and she stared as though daring the wolves to threaten her. She was surprised when Whisper did. Whisper pounced on Faya's back and bit her maw lightly, making the cub lower her head and tail in surprise. Faya bit back and in a second the two were on their hind legs, claws and jaws tearing at eachother's faces, locked in a cubbish battle.

Kimika sighed. This was going to be more difficult then she thought. "Well then..." she emitted, frowning slightly. She cleared her throat before speaking again. "The two of you. Stop fighting." Kimika walked foward and tried to separate the whelps. "D'you think, maybe, that you could control your daughter?" she said, looking at Echo. She aimed to grab Faya by the scruff of her neck and pull her away as the moved towards the pups again. "Both of you! Stop it!"

Faya bit Kimika savagely on the paw and froze, only just realising what she had done. She had mistaken the efforts to grab her scruff to be those of Whisper and had attacked blindly. Whisper ran to Echo, who batted her head heavily with his paw. Whisper sat down sulkily and mumbled an apology to the wolves and to Faya. Faya's face hardened again and she turned away. She shook her fur casually and sat back on her haunches, acting like nothing had happened though she felt a wave of guilt and bitter self-resenment. Her fourth chance at joining a pack and she had already blown it.
Hating to see the cub looking so miserable, Whisper trotted over to her and licked her maw gently. Faya pulled away, embarressed and glared into the calm blue ocean that was Whisper's eye. Faya's left eye danced like a tongue of flame feeding the feisty fire within her that was her soul. It took Whisper a moment to realise it was dancing with tears.
Echo stepped forward and bowed his head to the wolves. "We mean no harm." He said slowly. "I aplogise for Faya's sake and we'll be on our way." The last words were directed at Whisper who stood up and prepared to leave.

Kimika winced as Faya bit her paw. The skin had broken and a thin trail of blood was trickling out of it. Sighing, she shook her head. As she saw Echo and Whisper prepare to leave, she called out, "Wait!" Stepping foward, she continued. "No one has to leave." Motioning to her paw, she asked Faya, "You didn't mean to hurt me, right?" Then her orbs sought Whisper and Echo. "Neither of you did anything wrong either." Gaze turned once more, this time landing on her paw. A thin layer of ice surrounded the bitten area, numbing it and stopping the blood flow. "There." she murmered. Upon looking up, she realized that she had not introduced herself. "I'm Kimika, of the Blood Rose pack... by any chance, is that why you all are here? To join the pack?"

Faya shook her head furiously as the first question about the bite was asked. She smiled gratefully and regarded the healed wound with no more interest. Whisper, however, leapt to her feet. "How did you do that?" She cried out. Faya tilted her head and instantly flames leapt around her body. Whisper gave a shriek and ran behind Echo, who stood, his paws anchored to the spot in shock. Faya's fire died and she shot the two wolves a confused look. "You're not elemental?" Echo suddenly felt a memory tugging at his mind. He remembered hearing something about wolven elements, but he couldn't remember. "My mother was." He said tonelessly. "But I have never shown any signs of it."
Whisper crept out from behind her father and gave a suddenly excited look at Kimika. "J-join the pack?" She asked. "Even though we're unlucky?" Echo stamped hard on Whisper's paw and she gave an indignant yelp, her feelings hurt more than her paw. Faya was totally lost now. Whisper explained. "Well, our pack was slaughtered...so everyone says we're unlucky." Faya snorted scornfully. "Stupid beliefs." She growled. "No truth in them." Whisper smiled in delight.

Kimika looked from one whelp to the other, then to Echo. Slightly confused, she decided that answering questions would be the best idea. "Um... okay then... to answer all the questions, Whisper, I am of the ice element. The reason that I was able to do that is because I have learned how to master that part of the element. Faya, you're of the fire element, aren't you. I belive both Tsu, the Beta Fae and Rosa, one of our spellcasters, are of that element as well." She thought for a moment before continuing. "Echo? Most vargs are elemental, though some never show signs of it in their life. I guess the only way to find out is to try." Kimika smiled. "Whisper, I must agree with Faya on that last question. Just because your pack was slaughtered doesn't mean that you're unlucky. And yes, all of you are welcome to join the Blood Rose pack." Kimika's smile grew. "Um... okay then... any more questions or is everyone unconfused about all of this? I know I'm still slightly confused, but nevermind that."

Whisper surpressed a little laugh, knowing how crazy the group must sound. She considered the comment on trying out the elements and she wandered to a small dark area a bit further back. Her blue eyes shone out from the gloom and Faya smiled knowingly. "You're elemental, Whisper." She said firmly. Feeling confident, the cub closed her eyes and concentrated, not realising she didn't have anything to concentrate on. She didn't get much, but she got three tiny specks of light that hovered near her maw. Opening her eyes, she cried out in delight and they faded. Faya giggled.
"Thank you." Echo said softly. "For letting us join, I mean. I can fight for the pack...I'm a former warrior." Whisper bounded forward and raised herself onto her hind legs, leaning her forepaws on Kimika's chest. "I was gonna be a kappa when I grew up." Faya bowed her head. "Youngest warrior wolf in my area...had no pack." The cubs leaped around in delight but Echo turned to the entrance of the cave and stiffened. Whisper froze and flattened herself. Sillhouetted against the moon was a wolf, a fae as far as Echo could tell. Her plumy tail was curled right over her back and she had very long fur on her ears. There was water droplets clinging to her fur...though no signs of rain anywhere...

Kimika smiled. "We can decide about what ranks you all want later. Reiyn will be the one to talk to about that." Orbs narrowed slightly, also having scented the other varg. She turned 'round, watching the f'mmora.

Faya faced the wolf face to face, glaring into her eyes. The wolf gazed back, calm and unprovoked. She bowed her head in greeting and submissively exposed her throat. "Nice to meet you to, cub." She smiled. "I'm Silmae." She added carelessly, her name ringing gently throught the wolves ears. She approached slowly and sat down a little distance away, eying Kimika curiously. Whisper came a little closer and saw that there were what looked like tears on the wolf's maw. Only her eyes were bright...not dull and sullen as though you've been crying. Faya whispered something in her ear. "Water element?" Whisper said aloud, getting a frutrated nip from Faya. Whisper lowered her head and Silmae laughed, nodding. Suddenly, Whisper was drenched. She shivered and shook her fur in surprise. The drops of water fell to the floor and vanished. She was dry in moments.

Kimika watched the whole process in interest. "Of the water element, ey?" she murmered quietly. Turning her attention back to Silmae, she asked, "Are you also in search of a pack? I'm Kimika, of the Blood Rose pack... I was about to bring these three to the Drappa. I'm sure she wouldn't mind another."
Reiyn, in her cavern, decided that she had to see for herself what was happening. A shadow-clone separated itself from her body and left the cavern, padding silently towards the Admittance Cavern and entering from the back. There it sat, shrouded in shadows, watching the four Siklas and Kimika.
