Kimika smiled as Cain walked over to her. "See? There's nothing to be scared of. Reiyn and Tsu won't hurt you; neither will I."
Reiyn and Tsu smiled as well and moved closer, seating themselves in front of Kimika. Tsu asked, "Cain? Where are your parents?"

Cain stared at them, and when he decided that they really did mean him no harm, he said, "My mama is dead. I don't have a dad..."

Kimika looked up, startled. "Another one..." she whispered, her voice inaudible. She turned her gaze to Cain, searching his face for any expression.
Reiyn sighed. "I'm sorry..." She cleared her throat once, then glanced at Kimika. As Reiyn saw Kimika's questioning look, she nodded.
"Cain?" Kimika asked, after getting the response she needed from Reiyn. "Would you like to stay here? As a part of the Blood-Rose pack?"

Kimika looked across at Reiyn and Tsu again. Her eyes asked the unspoken question: What do I do?
Reiyn looked to Tsu, clearing her throat once, signalling Tsu that she could deal with this however she saw fit.
Tsu sighed before she started to speak. "Cain, you can stay here as long as you like. If you decide that you DO want to join the pack, that's fine. Just tell me, Reiyn, or Kimika. Okay?"

Cain followed Kimika happily. As it started to snow, he would occasionally snap at a snowflake. This was the first time he had seen snow in his life....

Upon reaching the cavern, Kimika stopped. "This is the Blood Rose Cavern, Cain. Don't mind the thorns at the entrance, they won't hurt you."

Cain looked up at the cave in amazement. The roses covering the entrance were so... pretty. Cain hardly noticed the thorns at all. He bounded into the cavern without taking any notice of them. (The thorns, that is)
