"I don't know how I could look like Hayashi," Cain said, "I never was in a pack..."
Rosa quickly jumped up and followed Tsu and Kimika. even though she hardly knew Cain, she was afraid for his safety.

Akina sighed and sat down. "I knew it was too good to be true... Hayashi IS dead, then..." Tears started to mist over in the whelp's eyes. She turned and started to run, dissapearing moments later into the forest.
Kimika and Tsu ran into the clearing, stopping short. "Cain?" Kimika asked. "Is everything all right?"

Cain stood for a moment, confused. "..What happened?" He asked. "It was like.. uh.. I'm confused!" He started to cry.
Rosa walked over to the pup and nudged him gently. "It's okay," She said kindly, "Don't cry."

Kimika sat down by Cain. "Shhhh, shhh, don't worry. Did something happen?" Her instincts as a kappa told her that there had been a... problem of sorts with another whelp. "Was someone bothering you?"
Tsu fluttered in nervous circles around the small group's heads. She wanted to go look for the other whelp, but something held her back. There was something about Akina's blood red eyes that just tore at her.
Akina, somewhere deep in the forest, started to scream. The brambles tore at her as she ran, her blood staining her moon-hued pelt. The noise, it was endless. Flocks of birds, resting in the trees, joined her painful song, rising in clouds above the woods. Almost blind with tears and rage, Akina ran on. Soon, her strength left her. She collapsed, deep in a thicket of roses. The flowers were not like those found guarding the lands. These had petals of black, the flowers seeming to reflect the night sky. A thorn caught Akina as she fell, slicing along her shoulder. Tears silently fell from the whelp's eyes, her voice lost once more. "Why... why give me such hope, only to kill it like you killed them?" Her thoughts raced, eyes wide.

Cain shook his head. "I don't know! I was just talking to her and then she got all nupset and ran off!" She was still confused. Why did the other whelp get.. angry at him?
Rosa heard Akina's cry in the forest and started. "What was that?" She asked.

Kimika turned, eyes searching the woods, the second that she heard Akina's scream. "You guys... wait here! I'm going to go find her." Kimika said, turning and darting towards the sound.
Tsu nodded, brow creased. "Akina has had a pretty painful past... do you think something might have drawn up some memories?" she asked, looking from Cain to Rosa.
Akina continued to sob soundlessly, the deep wound on her shoulder spewing blood. The black roses' poison started to seep into her body. Her world went dark. The young f'mmora fell unconcious, tears still streaming from her eyes. A dark dream took hold of her as she lay there, unable to move, unable to see.
A scream sounded. Akina and her sister, Hitomi, ran towards the sound. Together, they crouched behind a boulder, trying to see past it. The two of them gasped, the sight unbearable. There, right outside the den, their mother lay, wolves from another pack ripping at her flesh. Their father lay a few feet past, the demon-wolves having killed him earlier. The scent of blood flowed from within the den, where Akina and Hitomi's siblings had been resting. Hitomi screamed and ran foward as she saw one of the creatures shaking their youngest sister, Kaida, by her neck. Akina, unable to stop her sister, crouched down, not wanting to see what happened. The creatures, they leapt, catching Hitomi as she ran. One scream came from the whelp, and then it was over. "Looks like that was the last of 'em!" One of the creatures called out, laughing. Akina felt a tugging on the back of her neck, and fell into the blackness.
The whelp awoke, the tugging at the scruff of her neck becoming stronger. She tried to turn her neck, to see who was pulling her, but found herself unable to move. The poison still taking effect, Akina slipped into unconciousness again.

Rosa shrugged. "I don't know. I wasn't there."
Cain thought, and said, "She said I looked like someone... I can't remeber who... I'd never heard of him before, and then she got upset."

Kimika, having found Akina within the brambles, was the one tugging at the scruff of her neck. Slowly, the Kappa managed to pull the unconcious whelp out of the thicket. Once she was out, Kimika looked at the gash on Akina's shoulder. The black poison was already in her blood stream, and, without proper care, the young femme would die quickly. Carrying Akina by the scruff of her neck, Kimika set off to the caverns.
Tsu nodded slowly. "Perhaps the varg that she spoke of had been her friend? None of us can know..." she said, trailing off.
Akina felt Kimika pulling her out of the brambles, and she knew that someone had lifted her off of her mitts and was taking her somewhere. The whelp had little strength in her body, and was fading fast. Her eyes, tightly closed, began to darken.

Kimika, having reached the caverns, placed Akina gently on a ledge. The Kappa turned and ran to the entrance, howling to ask for help.
Tsu's head lifted upon hearing Kimika's howl. "The whelp... she must have...!" Tsu cried, understanding. "I've got to go help. Rosa, bring Cain to the main caverns in 10 minutes time. I'll meet you there." With that, the feline raced off, soaring through the air towards the caverns.

Cain looked up at Rosa. "Now what?" He asked.
"Eh.. I guess we start heading toward the caverns." Rosa said. She headed off in the general direction, with Cain at her side.

Tsu, having taken here quickly to the cavern, paced anxiously as Kimika doused the whelp's wounds with water from the stone basin. "Will she be all right?" the feline asked, eyes full of worry.
"Well..." the Kappa said, "she should. By the way, could you get me a few of the reeds on the shelf above the basin? I need them to wrap her leg."
Tsu nodded and brought the reeds. "We have to bring her to Reiyn's cavern now... Rosa and Cain should be here soon." she said. Kimika nodded and lifted the whelp by the scruff of her neck once more and padded off into the growing darkness as Tsu sat down to wait.
